Merkaz Havayot is a tourist attraction for the whole family. It is situated in Elazar in Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem (some 10 minutes by car).

The Center is small and visitor-friendly, covering an area of 4 dunams. The hundreds of animals are all within easy walking distance.

We offer therapy workshops and summer camp activities.

The Center is built on two levels. The animals have their homes on the upper level. You are invited to enter their cages and interact with them. On the  grassy area you can enjoy watching the animals against the backdrop of breathtaking scenery.

The lower level is the professional riding ring.

More than one thousand animals, including some very exotic species, await you: parrots and other birds, llamas, alpacas, camels, raccoons, insects, lizards, foxes, polecats, ferrets, rabbits, gerbils, chinchillas, emus, Australian tree frogs, tarantulas, giant land turtles, water turtles, snakes, horses, ponies, fish, porcupines, squirrels, guinea pigs, chameleons, and more.

Because of its special nature, you can only visit during the year on a guided tour by prior appointment. During hol hamoed the Center is open to visitors – dates and times will be advertised.

Tours are conducted by our experienced staff and suited to the ages of our visitors, from the very young to the very old. Special tours are available for students and professionals.

The entire Center is structured in such a way that it provides easy access for those with special needs.
