Gush Etzion Helmoniyot Festival – Shine Bright!

We invite you to the Helmoniyot (Sternbergia) Festival on Friday, 11 Kislev (27/11) between 9:00-14:00.

The festival will include live local music, arts and crafts inspired by the Helmoniyot, and tours for the whole family.

Please note: Guidelines set by the Ministry of Health will be enacted throughout the event.

Admission is FREE, pre-registration is REQUIRED. Spots are limited!

Those registered will receive a final notice before the event of any changes, according to updated guidelines as well as weather.

Family tours will depart from the festival information stand at:

10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00 12:30, 13:00, 13:30

9: 30-12: 30- Tour for hikers + Youth tour, including break spots.

10: 00-13: 00 – Tours to Herodium and Haritoun Cave guided by Kfar Etzion Field School tour guides. (Free admission at the entrance to Herodium + free scavenger hunt starting at 10:00 exactly in the Herodion parking lot)

Light family tours of the flowers last about an hour (not suitable for strollers)

Just ten minutes from Jerusalem and an hour from Tel Aviv, to show a spectacular yellow autumn bloom of Helmoniyot (Sternbergia).

With each autumn breeze, the largest concentration of Helmoniyot in the country paints the slopes of Sfar HaMidbar in eastern Gush Etzion in a magic golden glow, spanning across nearly 20,000 flowers. Helmoniyot appear after the first rains of the season, but only for a short period of about a month.

Admire the Helmoniyot and enjoy a variety of activities, in association with Kfar Etzion Field School, the Gush Etzion Community Center (Matnas), and Gush Etzion Regional Council.

* Sale for the entire Helmoniyot season! NIS 500 for a day of guided group tours to East Gush Etzion and surrounding sites.

* Festival goers will be given a 15% discount on weekday accommodations at the Kfar Etzion Field School. 

Notice- the festival is located a ten minute walk from the parking lot. Make sure to bring a bottle of water, a hat, and shoes.
