Yona Baruch and Ziona Tubi – Adam VeAdama
Unusual and useful household utensils. The gallery is next to the studio where workshops and private lessons are held. This mother and daughter duo work together.
Ziona Tubi was born in 1950. She studied with Lorna Saklowski and today, after a long interim spent teaching, she has fulfilled her dream and gone back to creating.
Yona Baruch was born in 1980. She studied art at Tel Hai College, focusing on pottery, and apprenticed with Daniel Platower in Safed.
At the Adam VeAdama studio you can watch the process by which each object comes to life, starting with a raw lump of clay that is gradually formed as it passes through every stage, with every touch. Finally it is complete – delicate, exposed, naturally adorned. The unusual shades of glaze are obtained through a process of firing known as ‘reduction.’ The results are always surprising.
The studio, located in the Alon Shvut Industrial Center, opened some three years ago. The gallery displays a wide range of useful utensils.
