Situated in one of the most beautiful spots in the Judean Desert, Sfar-Hamidbar Farm is located only 30 minutes away from Jerusalem. The farm includes two buildings and a camping site.
Shomeret HaMidbar -The Desert Keeper
“The Desert Keeper”, the first building built on the farm, overlooks beautiful landscape. It is plastered with local mud plaster. Its windows are made of iron and almost reach the floor so that even while sitting low on a Bedouin mattress, one can feel the connection to the land and the earth. Outside the building is a view that looks far out into the distance. An ecological bathroom is located just outside of the building. Our guests can enjoy and keep warm with our fireplace. We are currently building a kitchen that will be fully equipped. There is wi-fi and electricity.
Orchan HaMasait- The Truck Guesthouse
When we were contemplating where to place another structure for guests, we realized that since the farm is still developing, it is best to create a flexible unit and therefore decided to build a structure on a truck. We purchased a 2000 Volvo truck and converted it into a local housing unit that includes everything: running water, electricity and a fully equipped kitchenette. The truck has a “Belgian” iron door with square shaped windows that overlook some camels and a stunning view of the Judean Desert.
Dinner and breakfast can served at the entrance of the Truck for a separate fee.
You’re invited to set up your own tent at the farm and enjoy the farm’s services including water, electricity and a net for shade that we can build for you. The uniqueness here is that you can choose to set up your tent in one of three designated camping sites, according to the landscape that appeals best to you
